🔥 About DeWarmte

More than 40% of the Heat demand of an average Dutch household can be supplied in a circular manner. Circular heating results in an average CO2 reduction of 1 ton each year, per household. With the current Dutch housing stock, circular heating has a national CO2 reduction potential of 8 Mtons (4 coal fired power plants)! DeWarmte aims to reduce CO2 emissions caused by the built environment. We do this by recovering heat from the sewage in the underfloor service space of the house. We believe that every technique with a significant CO2 reduction potential should be investigated. Not only by theory and experiments in the lab but also by assessing a viable business model and realising practical implementation. Therefore, we develop the HeatCycle. The HeatCycle is placed within the boundaries of the home to recover heat from the sewage.

⚙️ The Challenge

As intern product design and certification you will develop a complete product based on its previous version. You will improve the 3D design of the casing for the control unit to reduce assembly time and improve physical appeal. The design is made with a production process in mind. After the design process is completed your product will be produced and the certification process will start. The goal of the assignment is to produce the product and start up the associated CE-certification process.

• Motivated & independent. You can define the scope of your tasks independently and you can stay motivated also when working alone/from home. However, we are always available to help, and you will be an important asset to our team. If the (Covid-19) situation allows it, we will work together at Yes!Delft for most of the time.
• Socially strong. You will work in a small and fast paced environment. Communication is key to keep the planning aligned.
• Design/Technical background. Your assignments are focused on producing a product from design until certification.
• In the possession or in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experienced in using 3D design software (Autocad, solidworks or equivalent).
