🟢 About Shift<\/h3>\n

Shift is a (non-profit) start-up. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Climate change: Not only do we hear about it every day, we also experience it more and more. The news presents us with images of tropical storms, wildfires, heat waves and extreme droughts almost every day.<\/p>\n

And where before this mainly took place far from home, we are also increasingly confronted with extremes. Hot summers, droughts and flooding. It is no longer in faraway places, it’s happening right in front of our eyes.<\/p>\n

🚀 Our main strategy<\/h3>\n

We do this through a special strategy in which two elements are central:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • A 3-month sustainability program that helps people live much more sustainably with a group of like-minded individuals.  During the program, we develop and share articles, infographics, podcasts and much more to inspire and educate people to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Furthermore, we organize various optional (online) expert- and inspiration sessions throughout the program, for example with a plant based nutrition or energy expert.<\/li>\n
  • We are developing a plan for the construction of an iconic landmark, a temple of sustainability (think in terms of ambition, a combination of the Eiffel Tower and Sagrada Familia, but made of wood and sustainable materials). To understand more, see the video below the vacancy.<\/li>\n
  • Inside the landmark building, visitors will go through an  \u201cimmersive experience\u201d to inspire them to live more sustainably. Our vision is to attract millions of visitors each year.<\/li>\n
  • After their inspiring visit to the landmark tower, visitors are invited to participate in our 3-month sustainability program and join our community of people who can help them on their journey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    🤩 The Challenge<\/h3>\n

    In September, we will run our fourth 12-week long Shift community program with 20 to 35 participants who are looking to do more to reduce their carbon footprint and increase their carbon handprint. The program is a combination of sharing engaging content online via WhatsApp groups (challenges & articles, podcasts, videos), online workshops and physical meetings.<\/p>\n

    As a Communication and Social Media Intern at Shift, you\u2019ll get a great opportunity to discover how a non-profit start-up operates in detail, working in an organisation that makes a difference in the world.<\/p>\n

    It will be your job to come up with ideas for engaging content, research and write it and post them to our social media platforms. Currently, we focus 100% on LinkedIn but are looking to also start our online presence on Instagram, so if you have great ideas and want to develop a strategy to grow our presence on other social media platforms, we are all ears!<\/p>\n

    When you work at Shift, you will be part of a dynamic environment with plenty of room for autonomy, your own ideas, and your way of working.<\/p>\n

    Having said all that, here’s what you’ll be doing during your internship at Shift:<\/p>\n

    • Writing and posting content for our social media channels (with a focus on LinkedIn)<\/li>\n
    • Managing our social media channels (moderating and responding to comments)<\/li>\n
    • Explore strategic collaborations through social media<\/li>\n
    • Co-creating a social media & communications strategy<\/li>\n
    • Recruiting participants for the next program through LinkedIn, and potentially, other social media platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      🎯 Who are you?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • You’re a social person, a social media connoisseur with a knack for people engagement and content creation.<\/li>\n
      • You\u2019re creative and have experience with writing and social media creation, ideally with a particular emphasis on LinkedIn, but this is not required.<\/li>\n
      • PR or communications strategies don’t scare you, and you get a kick out of knowing you “hit the target audience just right” with engaging content<\/li>\n
      • You speak and write English excellently.<\/li>\n
      • You don\u2019t need a lot of instructions, you\u2019re used to figuring things out by yourself and get stuff done.<\/li>\n
      • You are the outlier amongst your peers, the person that is always doing a thousand things while your friends scratch their heads and wonder how you can do all of them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Maybe you’re still deciding what to do after college; start your own company, or work for a start-up, but by now you know that the “corporate business world” isn’t for you. You want to work in a place where you have the opportunity to really make a difference, and where you are taken seriously in how you can contribute to an organization’s mission.<\/p>\n

        We don’t care what the name of your university, college or study program is. We know that talent comes from everywhere. We are especially interested in your ambition and motivation.<\/p>\n

        🚀 Who will you work with<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        Amongst others, you will work with the founder and CEO, Don Ritzen (40), who before starting Shift, co-founded Rockstart.<\/p>\n

        Rockstart is one of the first Accelerator VCs in Europe, and since its founding in 2011 has invested in more than 250 startups worth collectively more than a billion euros. Don was the commercial director at Rockstart and has extensive experience helping start-ups get their products to market, raising funds worth tens of millions of euros and has built a network of hundreds of investors across Europe.<\/p>\n

        The other team members you will work closely with are Chesney Bruce, our designer and Ivonne Schippers, our community manager.<\/p>\n
