Hammer, based in the centre of Arnhem, provides market intelligence. We support our clients in their decision making with accurate information about their markets, customers and competitors. Especially in Agri, Food and Pharma. Hammer finds what others cannot find.<\/p>\n

📊 The Challenge<\/h3>\n

At Hammer we are always looking to expand our team with new energy and ideas! We have been collaborating with students from the HAN and the Radboud University in setting up a data platform to aid our analysts and develop predictive modelling tools to assist our clients in their market strategies. Currently we are looking for a student (with any form of higher professional education) with a technical background to assist us in these projects. We are mainly looking at students from a study related to data science, computer science, or artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

Some examples of internship opportunities at Hammer are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Building and training a classifier that automatically tags text snippets based on an active learning pipeline that enables progressive improvement based on continuous expert feedback;<\/li>\n
  • Improving the topic modelling pipeline of our Hammer information retrieval system (Hammer Goldmine) and expanding it into new areas like products\/goods and geographical topics;<\/li>\n
  • Building and maintaining of web scrapers to retrieve news articles and processing data from internal data lakes relevant for our subjects of analysis and clients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    🎯 Who are you?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    No specific skillset is required, but some useful skills that are convenient in many of our projects are:<\/p>\n

    1. Basic Python programming skills;<\/li>\n
    2. Understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP);<\/li>\n
    3. Understanding of machine learning principles;<\/li>\n
    4. Understanding of database management tools (mainly NoSQL);<\/li>\n
    5. Understanding of basic web development tools.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
